Jacobson Nautilus Mandolin #36 – Nordic

Specs:
Redwood top, redburst stain
Centered nouveau shaped oval hole w/ traditional transverse bracing
Peaked headstock, peaked fretboard to match the shape of the oval hole
1.25″” block depth (deeper than usual body, but not so deep as to lose the clarity of trebles)
Highly figured Bigleaf maple back, quarter sawn – with redburst stain to match top and enhance maple grain
5-piece figured walnut neck w/ curly maple center stripes
Compound radius Gabon ebony fretboard w/ small dot markers on front and side of fretboard.
Custom Nordic dragon inlay
1 1/8? nut width, standard compound radius
C shaped neck, fairly slender
.080? x .040? frets (“”Banjo frets””)
Modern thin varnish finish

There is no plastic binding — the walnut sides, maple and fumed
eucalyptus (black stripes) sides act as binding, and the fretboard feels
just like a bound neck (undercut fret tangs, and the fret slots do not
extend to the edge)

Jacobson Ziricote bridge, ebony saddle compensated for D’Addario J73’s or J74’s
Jacobson engraved brass tailpiece with curly maple frame
Simple gloss brass Rubner tuning machines with Teflon bearings
Basic Guardian hardshell case (upgrades available if desired)
