Well, chalk this one up to experience. Fresh from building my first mandolin, I tried out all my theories and new ideas in this one instrument. Curly redwood, super high neck angle, stepped bridge design, new tailpiece idea (at least that worked), relieved X-bracing, huge oval hole, D’angelico-inspired lower bout, lots of inlay. It hangs on the wall of my shop and reminds me not to get cocky.
